After a long journey, “The Country” has found a forever home! It was sold last week and will be a Christmas surprise for a special daughter-in-law.
This quilt has been on a two-year journey around the world. It traveled in a show called “Concrete & Grassland,” a SAQA Global Exhibition which explored the theme of urban and rural landscapes. (I obviously chose rural.) SAQA is Studio Art Quilt Associates, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions and publications.
The exhibition toured the United States, then to London and other cities in England, Ireland and China. Pretty exciting stuff!
