I’ve always been fascinated by the mysterious “crop circles” that appear overnight in our fields. To tell the story, I chose a palette of neutrals — 8 in all — black, dark gray, medium gray, light gray, navy, dark blue, brown, and white! I challenged myself to use dark values that merge together for the background and to “float” some of the circles off the edge.

At first I didn’t know if I should get excited. How big of a deal was it to have your quilt chosen for this show? I thought Quilts=Art=Quilts was one of the revered shows of the art quilt (aka textile art) world, but it wasn’t until I read the list of other artists in the show that my heart flipped over. Holy cow!!!
I’ve been a working artist for some time now, selling my art quilts and getting accepted into juried shows – but this – this is real validation. Yayyyy!!!
