I began experimenting with curved, and even jagged, cuts to create lines and shapes as found in nature. It was challenging, but exciting, to use my rotary cutter so freely.
I abandoned the ruler, the pinning, and the quarter-inch seam to get the results I wanted. I felt like I was “bending fabric” as I stitched the curves into submission.
